Michael approached me about illustrating this charming book, which he wanted to print just a couple dozen copies of as an heirloom gift for his grandchildren. This was my first time illustrating a book rather than just designing it. We decided on a paper cut-out style influenced by Eric Carle, Leo Lionni, and JoAnn Adinolfi. I had a ton of fun working on it, and hope Michael's family enjoys reading it together for many years to come.
