This collection of essays on diversity had appeared in multiple other editions, but the author wasn't happy with any of the previous covers. I used emoji-style illustrations to take it in a more young and playful direction. Discussions about race are a challenging subject, and I wanted to capture the good-natured humor Joan uses to keep sensitive subjects approachable and appealing. With a title like "The Future of White Men" it was essential to show at a glance that this is a funny and poignant discussion on diversity, rather than some sort of alt-right manifesto.
